What do you do to make a living?
Database Administrator
What kind of hobbies do you have?
Yoga, Writing, Kirtan, Hiking
In a world where you were pursuing your deepest, most heartfelt callings, what would you be doing?
I am doing that now...raising my daughter, teaching yoga, writing, gardening, enjoying community.
What is the most important thing you have learned in your life?
As soon as you feel a disturbance in your psychological state - it's time to get out the shovel and dig because there is something there for you!
Describe a belief that you previously held and then subsequently changed. What caused you to change your mind?
Beginning in my teenaged years and into my thirties, I fancied myself an existentialist and interpreted that as though we were spiritually alone. This led to a lot of sadness (and a lot of partyng)! When I started practicing yoga, I started to feel my heart, my energy body, and the interconnectedness of all things. My best friend is a powerful shaman (theempowermentcentre.com) who has helped me to experience this as a reality.
Who do you admire most in the world (past and/or present) and why?
Ammachi (www.amma.org). She embodies love and manifests it in a way which fulfills peoples real needs both material and spiritual.
At this turbulent moment in history, what do you think is the most important thing a person can do to help humankind (and the rest of the planet) survive the many dangers that confront us?
Relearn the skills of our ancestors and start to do things that are 'real' - connect with the land.
What are your answers to the big questions: Who are we? Where are we from? Why are we here? Where are we headed?
Hmm, well I sense that we are souls in Earth School, headed toward reintegration with Spirit/God, whatever terminology doesn't make you cringe! Will willingly sacrifice any of my own concepts for 'the truth' if discovered.
Why did you decide to join this community?
To connect with like-minded others.

Death in the time of Rebirth

I am going to start a separate blog to explore my feelings about the recent and unexpected death of my brother at age 40. I started this in my Community blog for no particular reason other than I didn't have to think much to post a reply. I will try to move or cross-link to this blog at a later date.

It has always struck me how many deaths occur in the springtime - especially with the chronically ill - as if it's just too much for the cells to survive the onslaught of life-surge that c…

Community

This is my second venture into online community - I am a member of a local group called Families for Natural Living (www.fnlp.org). We chat online and meet up in person for group activities. It's mostly Moms who follow an Attachment Parenting philosophy (long-term nursing, baby-wearing, co-sleeping) but also ventures into peak oil, homesteading, organic farming and related topics.

Hi Linda,

Your daughter is so beautiful!! I like a lot of what you wrote in your profile. Your Most Important Thing, for instance... I agree about getting out the shovel when you notice yourself feeling ruffled about something. Actually, all the answers after that too. This community is pretty wonderful, isn't it!

Lynda,
I enjoyed your poems -- especially Seeking Light and Dream. Just posted one of mine, written 3 years ago on the yoga mat.

Thanks David - happy to be here! I think we all find our own resonance with a particular path - for me, everything just started making sense with yoga and although I have explored other avenues since, this path still continues to unfold for me. I will be interested to see how this particular community evolves and hope to learn and contribute to it's evolution. (Thanks for sampling my articles!).

Hello Linda. Glad you decided to take this new community venture for a spin. I read over your bio and checked out a couple of the yoga articles that are posted on your website. Nice to see someone diving into the dark, shadowy waters of unresolved issues and finding healing there. Thanks to the Pathwork lectures (www.pathwork.org), my inner process is similar, but I've never seriously pursued yoga. Glad to hear you have.
