The Times, they are a-changin'

Try pretending that all you now believe to be real but wish that it was
not, is not real. And that all you wish to be real, is. If only for a
few moments each day.

Then,
try acting like all you wish to be real already is real. With just a
word here, a sentence there, or some little demonstration. If only in
private.

Before long, you won't even remember what you used to believe was real.

I'm pretending you already do this stuff whenever you want change.

Hello! I recently found your November 2004 additions to another forum, the Yahoo Groups HSP Community (the HSP-Plus posts). I wanted to let you know how touched I was by the thoughtfulness and courage of those posts, and raw, and at times very difficult honesty of your words. It is a shame that your HSP-Plus community no longer exists, for I would have joined in a heartbeat, though I can think of many reasons for its possible demise. At the core, I think, must lie the profound scarcity of people who share sensitivities and awarenesses like yours (perhaps, dare I suggest, ours), and the difficulties involved in finding, reaching and motivating those scattered individuals into an online community that is both safe and honest, without sacrificing the one or the other. Online communication, in many ways, is a double-edged sword. On one hand, connects millions of people to one another in fractions of a second, and on the other, it is profoundly different in kind from face-to-face interaction and lacks many of the benefits of face-to-face acquaintance. Still, we are told by society that no matter who we are, we can find a community of people like us on the internet... but this is not always true, as you and I both well know.

Although we are at very different stages of life and have no doubt had very different experiences in many respects, I sincerely hope that we can correspond and add a little bit to our respective searches for others like ourselves in the world.

Hello Ernie. Thanks for the invite to be your friend! And welcome. Little by little, this community space is beginning to get interesting. Hey, and nice tee-shirt too!
