What do you do to make a living?
I am retired, but I used to work as a school psychologist helping troubled teens.
What kind of hobbies do you have?
tennis, playing my clarinet, camping
In a world where you were pursuing your deepest, most heartfelt callings, what would you be doing?
helping others solve conflicts without resort to violence, joining with others to develop a less complex, more caring, more sustainable community.
What is the most important thing you have learned in your life?
Be humble, no one can answer all the questions. Life is and will always be a mystery.
Describe a belief that you previously held and then subsequently changed. What caused you to change your mind?
The whole Christian interpretation of redemption based on a human sacrifice. I cant believe a loving God would sacrifice his son in such a cruel way. I found that the Christ consciousness is the real spirit working within me and that this was Jesus real message. We can each evolve into the image that Divinity made for us. We were all created in the image of God. I have come to find him within my soul.
Who do you admire most in the world (past and/or present) and why?
The dalai lama, because in the face of violence and hatred, he is calm and serene, knowing that death is a moment away.
At this turbulent moment in history, what do you think is the most important thing a person can do to help humankind (and the rest of the planet) survive the many dangers that confront us?
Find inner awareness of the soul. It can help you connect with the web of life and develop a global mind. We are all atoms in a grand mystery of existence for which there are only a series of improbable hypotheses.
What are your answers to the big questions: Who are we? Where are we from? Why are we here? Where are we headed?
We represent the evolution of consciousness. We came from the original oneness of Being which evolved from atoms to molecules to bacteria to carbon-based life forms to us. We are here to evolve into what we are, the image of Divinity. Evolution will take place internally, first, and then externally in a more loving, sustainable, compassionate community.
Why did you decide to join this community?
I am concerned about the future of humanity.
