About Me:

I'm 61 and single, but in a good relationship. I work in a government job. I've been a member of nhne for over 10 years, and am personal friends with Sher, whom I met on this site. I'd love to meet more of you, including David and Dave. (You know who you are! :) )

Favorite Music:

I like all kinds of music, from opera to rockabilly. I like Chris Isaak, and American Idol, even some techno-jazz. I love to dance, and people are sometimes suprised that a lady of my age and station dances so uninhibitedly!

Favorite Books:

"Handbook of the Navigator" by Eric Pepin is very interesting (www.higherbalance.com). Just read an extensive biography of Marie Antoinette (poor thing!), by Antonia Fraser, the wife of Harold Pinter. I like spiritual books, and will read most anything. I often read the books reviewed and/or recommended on nhne. Right now I'm reading "Journey of Souls" by Michael Newton, and will read the sequel, too.

Favorite Movies:

Love "Chicago" and "Dream Girls." I like movies lot and will watch most anything interesting and unusual. Boyfriend likes action/adventure, so he doesn't exactly understand!

Favorite TV Shows:

I admit I watch "American Idol" avidly, and love "Survivor." Other than that, I'm mainly a news hound - love CNN.

What do you do to make a living?

I am a County department head.

What kind of hobbies do you have?

I like to take long walks, read spiritual books, meditate, cook for friends, watch movies. (Sounds like a personals ad!)

In a world where you were pursuing your deepest, most heartfelt callings, what would you be doing?

I'd be a spiritual teacher, but first I have to feel I really have something to teach!

Describe a belief that you previously held and then subsequently changed. What caused you to change your mind?

Used to be a conservative, now I 'm a liberal. I realized that there are some things that government should do for the people, that won't get done if left up to the tender mercies of private enterprise-based capitalism!

Who do you admire most in the world (past and/or present) and why?

Eric Pepin, spiritual teacher.
Barack Obama, President of the United States.

At this turbulent moment in history, what do you think is the most important thing a person can do to help humankind (and the rest of the planet) survive the many dangers that confront us?

Build up your spiritual power, take card of the planet and one another.

What are your answers to the big questions: Who are we? Where are we from? Why are we here? Where are we headed?

If I knew these answers I'd be on a mountaintop somewhere dispensing wisdom. Actually, I think the Matrix movies may have some answers . . .
