Forgiveness is the key to spiritual progress and freedom. We all have issues which bother us. These issues act like anchors which slow down our progress. Forgiveness puts you back in charge of your life.

What is the most important thing you have learned in your life?
Everything we think is real is juse an elaborate illusion that we are creating with our fellow beings.

Everything is as it should be.

Everything works out for the best.

Attachment creates suffering.

We are all one, and that oneness is God.
Describe a belief that you previously held and then subsequently changed. What caused you to change your mind?
I used to think God wanted us to do certain things - to be good, etc. or God would get angry and punish us. This never quite felt right. Why would God create us only to require us to be a certain way? Why would God not strike down evil people like Hitler and why did God not protect the countless innocents who die every day? It makes no sense. Some people take these puzzles and decide there is no God. I am too strong in my faith in our spiritual nature, so I looked for a better explanation. My book list contains that explanation. Many truly great people from Jesus down, have said this is not the real world. Neale Donals Walsch's books and many others contain the answer. God requies nothing of us. I now believe we are parts of God that have chosen to imagine ourselves as separate. It's the best explanation for the way things are in this world.

If God created us we can barely begin to understand God. Up until now we have created God in our image. We have limited God by our ability to understand and imagine our source/creator. We need to allow for a much grander vision of God.
Who do you admire most in the world (past and/or present) and why?
Jesus - wholeness, spirituality, wisdom, godliness
Einstein - genius, spirituality, peace-loving
Lao Tzu - wisdom
Da Vinci - brilliance, artistry, scope
Ghandi - peacef-loving idealist
Buddha - truth seeker
At this turbulent moment in history, what do you think is the most important thing a person can do to help humankind (and the rest of the planet) survive the many dangers that confront us?
To be loving and tolerant, and to treat others as you would like to be treated.

Do not worry about yourself. Worry about what you can do to help those around you.
What are your answers to the big questions: Who are we? Where are we from? Why are we here? Where are we headed?
- We are spriritual beings on a human journey (de Chardin).

- We are of God.

- We are here to learn, to create, and to experience the oneness of everything.

- We are all cycling from experiencing and creating our own individual experience to reexperiencing our oneness with everything.
Why did you decide to join this community?
A friend invited me and it looked like my kind of place! I've long wanted a place where spiritually-minded folks can congregate, communicate, and share.

No way! My Dad was big into Barbershop and I love the genre. It, by far, is alive & kickin', as you mentioned. In fact, when I lived up in Tigard (outside of Portland, Or), there was a ladies' barbershop group - and the guys and gals would do competitions. Do you know if it's rooted in Americana (maybe the midwest) or is it an English move-across-the-pond thing.

In any event, how about you guys doing something and loading it in mp3 form up to your corner here?

Peace.

Nancy:

The folks are my Barbershop Chorus mates! I wanted a phto that shows the joy of life.

For 2 years I've been singing Barbershop harmony and completely loving it. I had always wanted to know how singers did harmony, but it seemed out of reach. I just loved the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and any songs with harmony. Then I discovered that Barbershop harmony wasn't a dead genre, but a lively one with over 800 chapters and 30,000 members in the US. I joined a local chapter and now I'm singing a capella harmony! If you sing, it's a fantastic experience. If you have an well-developed ear for music it can be sublime.

I'm glad you are here too!

Thanks for inviting me as well! This site is what I had in mind for HT, but until recently the technology didn't really exist. Even Ning!, the technology behind this, is not as far along as I would like. I think services like this will expand and eventually they will merge into a unified network of communities of interest.

Imagine a site where my interests in Barbershop, New Spirituality, Macro Photography, etc., can all be brought together. That's where it's all headed. In fact, I"m an advisor to a startup who's working on it.

"Everything we do either brings people together or drives them apart. Be conscious of your actions." ... a quote from Daniel Endy!

Love & Blessings !

I agree about Picasa and Elements. Picasa is by far the easiest and most efficient, therefore the best to use - especially for this amateur, albeit learning-sponge Geek.

Your picture - who are the folks - it's a great pic with lots of Spirit....ONEness awakening, yes?

I'm so glad you're here, and I must again thank David for creating the site and to Jim who listed it in his newsletter that came to HTUSA.

Love, Fun & Peace. Do the research.
