About Me:

I am educated at the Norwegian Technical University (now NTNU). I have worked as a teacher more then 30 years. I have been the coordinator for two European projects, REDUCE and Expand REDUCE. The objective was to make good, cheap and easily accessible learning material, and the subject was chemicals hazardous to health and environment. www.reduce.no will give more information and the pages will be reopened within December 2008. Lately I have studied e-teaching (se links) and has developed a course called Chemical Management in Enterprises I (CheMiE I). Hopefully the University of Agder will offer the Norwegian version of the course in February 2009 and the English version I September 2009.

What do you do to make a living?

I hope to make a living being an e-tutor, advisor for enterprises, developer of e-courses and coordination/participating in transnational projects. It would be nice to get really old doing this

What kind of hobbies do you have?

Playing bridge and fishing.

In a world where you were pursuing your deepest, most heartfelt callings, what would you be doing?

What I am doing now. Trying to educate people to reduce the risk from hazardous chemicals

What is the most important thing you have learned in your life?

That real friends are irreparable.

Describe a belief that you previously held and then subsequently changed. What caused you to change your mind?

I thought I knew women. After two marriages I have changed my mind. Still women are the angels of the world. Well, most of them.

Who do you admire most in the world (past and/or present) and why?

Nelson Mandela. He came out of from the prison saying:
Love and peace. He did not use those words but ...

At this turbulent moment in history, what do you think is the most important thing a person can do to help humankind (and the rest of the planet) survive the many dangers that confront us?

The most important a person can do is to be active, engaged and stubborn.

What are your answers to the big questions: Who are we? Where are we from? Why are we here? Where are we headed?

My answer is: I don`t know but let humans base their believes and moral on science and experience of mankind.

Why did you decide to join this community?

I would like to integrate CheMiE in CP end create CHP - Cleaner and Healthier Production. Then I have to have contact with Don. And Don: I have stopped smoking. Well, just one week, but ....
